Tasks of the teacher for children with special and particular needs
Article 27 of the amended Law of 6 February 2009 on the organisation of basic education defines the tasks of the I-EBS.
The specialised teacher in the education of pupils with special or specific educational needs:
- ensures that pupils with special educational needs are cared for in an inclusive manner within the school
- ensures consultation with the class teacher and the teaching team concerned about the pupils in question
- ensures the communication of information to parents of pupils with special educational needs with regard to the progress of their children's learning
- provides advice to the staff of the relevant education and childcare service on the subject of the pupils concerned
- advises teaching teams on how to deal with the pupils concerned
- coordinates the provision for pupils with special educational needs at school level
- develops an approach to the management of pupils with special educational needs
- in the context of drafting the SDP in consultation with school staff and staff from the education and childcare service
- ensures the link with the inclusion commission at regional level and the competence centres at national level
